  1. IC: The Dark Crusade

The Dark Crusade Overshadowing the nearby towns and villages, the colossal stone chapterhouse of the Order of The Ebony Sun could easily be mistaken for a castle- with its roughly hewn stone walls and and turrets spotted with arrow slits. But inside was a different matter. there were no mighty feasting halls or lavish rooms- Upon the walls hung strange weapons and the men trained in queer arts foreign even to the heretics outside the walls. Every dawn, midday and sunset the chanting of their prayer could be heard from the village below, bellowing out to the world the message of defiance against the oncoming evils of the holy lands. "We pledge to defend the his grace the Kings holy lands in the name of almighty God, in his name, so be it." * Ser Ratigan was in the assembly hall, kneeling piously before Lord Alston, an envoy of King Richard. The envoy had traveled many hundreds of miles on horseback to bring the sealed scroll of orders, for his and his riding partner, Ser Allastad's eyes only. He sat in the seat of the envoy, next to the ebony greatchair. the seat of Lord Roustan, the master of the order who was gravely ill with a foreign sickness of the mind. "My Lord, i come for orders." he asked, not commanding but suggesting quick progress. The man said nothing, and passed him the ornate scroll, kept shut by the wax seal of the king. "It is not to be opened until you begin your journey, and not in the presence of others." "Understood, my Lord. Ratigan left as more members of the Order filed in, all in single file as the previous business was concluded and they had other matters to ask of the travelling envoy. He passed the through the open corridors, and looked out at the initiates practicing in the yard, attacking straw men with wooden swords. He called out for his squire but eventually found him eating a roast fowl and sitting on the straw among the horses. "Gromley, prepare my weaponry and saddle my horse- we leave within the hour for Acre. Bring provisions and supplies. Now, if you can spare the time." Gromley seemed to ignore the sarcasm and went to do as told. He had to find his riding partner, and surmised he would likely find him showing the initiates in the archery yard showing off his skills with the bow. He headed there, his chairman clinking and the flag of his order across his chest flapping in the wind like a scarf...
  2. IC: Hogwarts 1940

IC: Hogwarts 1940 Hogwarts, 1940 AD. With the start of the second world war, england is a very different and dangerous place. Even Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is feeling the effects. With the influence of Tom Riddle, the arrival of Rubeus Hagrid, and all the events that follow, Hogwarts goes on, teaching young minds whilst the world tries it's best to defeat Hitler. Your character might be a citizen of war-panicked london, or maybe an evacuated child sent to live in the country. School starts (as it always has) on september 1st... * In the darkness of his attic room, Ignotus was poring through the musty old pages of a century old copy of Magick Moste Evile- It was full of his little paper bookmarks, and he was laying on his chest waggling his legs in the air, breathing dust and wizardry's most awful magic, but mostly dust. The mansion was practically empty, save for Mister Slash, skulking in the corner of the attic, half hidden in blackness almost material. Practically empty, as it also included Shivering Lou, the ghost of a little girl who'd died in the house from sickness but still happily played with her dolls despite being dead for twenty years. Her giggles amused Ignotus, as he read about curses that turned muggles inside out, including ancient woodcut illustrations. When his Grandparents returned hours later, his Grandmother popped her grey head round his bedroom door. "Off to bed, young one. You know the rules, no reading after nine." Ignotus did as told, and got into his bedclothes. "Your letter is here, came yesterday morning but that cat of yours got it first, the owl was probably too tempting to pass up. Good job i found it before it was unreadable. Here, don't be too late." She kissed him on the head and left. The letter was slightly ripped by cat claws and smelled of urine, but Ignotus read it anyway. He already knew he was going to Hogwarts, as his father had told him all about it, and was pleased it was confirmed. He tried to sleep, thinking of himself, impressing the sorting hat with all his knowledge... Going to Diagon alley would be tomorrows highlight, he thought, even with muggle london on bomb alert... * Septimus was working hard in the potato patch, when the postman handed him a letter. The postman rarely came to Droppers Duff, but with the war owls were seen less and less as the air became too dangerous to send private letters. He tried to rub the sweat off his head, but his dirty hand made a brown smudge. He longed for the day he could dig by magic! but until then, he tended the patch every other day since he was old enough to lift the shovel. The letter turned out to be his Hogwarts letter, and he jumped for joy, dropped the shovel and ran home as fast as his legs could carry him. "Mum! It came! I'm going to Hogwarts school!" He said excitedly waving the increasingly filthy letter. His mother just smiled, and pointed to his chair. His mother was deaf, but the family had learned to communicate with her fine. Soon, The Cowley family were all at the kitchen table for dinner, all celebrating Septimus' 11th birthday with cake, presents, sibling rivalries and weary eye rolls. Apparently his Uncle Augustus had given him the money to buy his Hogwarts supplies! His entire brood, him, his mum and dad, Ethel, Edith, Hortedicia and little Jessica would be bundling into Diagon alley...
  3. IC: Star Trek: Sigma Sector

Star Trek: Sigma Sector -------------------- Tezan had arrived on the bridge a good ten minutes before his shift was due to start. The night shift Captain had been more than happy to allow him to take over early, their long shift starting to take its toll. After putting down on the log the change in command, Tezan had sat down in the Captains chair, looking at the main view screen ahead. On it was the image of the Centaran trade hub, Tellah. The Charlemagne had entered orbit early yesterday, taking a short time to allow the crew some shore leave, as well as to stock up on supplies. Captain Ellison was still on Tellah according to the logs, having spent the night there. Tezan couldn't blame her. They had some very nice hotels and places to stay at, and it was often nice to get away from the sparse conditions on board the Charlemagne. Stretching his arms slightly, Tezan watched as the rest of the bridge crew, who weren't on shore leave, started to filter onto the bridge, changing over with those who had taken on the night shift. An Ensign, a young female Andorian, walked over to Tezan and passed him a data pad which Tezan took and started to scroll through. "Just a summary of what occurred on the night shift, Commander" the Ensign said quickly as Tezan looked to her and smiled, nodding. There wasn't much to be read on the report. The Charlemagne had been scanning the local area whilst it orbited Tellah, but nothing of note had been found. Various trade requests had been approved and denied, ranging from raw materials and knowledge, which the Captain had been fine to trade, dependant on the knowledge, all the way up to shuttles and weapons systems, which were strictly off limits. "Thank you Ensign" Tezan finally said, tapping on the data pad and putting his electronic signature down to show he had read it. He passed it back to the Andorian, who took the pad and smiled before turning on the spot and heading to the turbolift to carry on her duties.
  4. Star Trek: Sigma Sector Type: Private Genre: Action, Science Fiction Level: Advanced For ages: 15+ Afternoon everyone! This is an RP that Faze and I have been concocting for a week or so now, set in the world of Star Trek! For the time being, it is a private RP between myself and Faze, so we can get it rolling and see how it pans out. It may be opened up to others later on, depending on how it goes, but a decent knowledge of Star Trek will be required (hence the Advanced level) As the RP progresses, this OOC thread will be updated with logs from the crew on board the ship, so as to serve as reference points for information within the RP. ------------------- Acting Captains Log, Stardate 55773.6 This is acting Captain Olivia Ellison, serving on board the U.S.S. Charlemagne. For two months now we have been trapped in the Sigma Sector. We have received no word of contact from Starfleet during our time here. All information points towards the fact that they are either unable to reach is, or think we are lost in action. The following log details the events that transpired which led up to our being trapped in the Sigma Sector. The Charlemagne, a science vessel, was originally under the command of Captain Peter Lorenzo. I served as the second in command on the vessel. Our mission was the testing of new technologies that had been fitted onto our vessel after the return of the U.S.S. Voyager from the Delta Quadrant, technologies that had been developed using the knowledge and experiences the crew had gathered during their seven year journey. It was during one of our tests that we came across an issue. We had been instructed to try using a new form of propulsion that would allow us to travel between the four quadrants in no more than a day or two, thus allowing new alliances to be forged, as well as increase response times to emergencies within our home territories. The experiment started off as planned. Lieutenant George Franks, our Chief Engineer, and T’lan, a Vulcan engineer who was primarily responsible for the creation of the new propulsion, were both overseeing the process. Our warp drive was taken offline and the new propulsion powered up. With the go-ahead received from Franks and T’lan, Captain Lorenzo gave the order for the engine to be activated, putting in our destination to go from just outside the orbit of Mars to Vulcan. To begin with, all went well. The new propulsion powered up and we rapidly left Mars orbit before hurtling towards Vulcan. Roughly halfway along the journey, there was an unexpected power surge. At this time, we are still unsure what caused the surge, all we know is that it had detrimental effects. The new propulsion systems power output went far beyond the pre-set limits. The journey to Vulcan should have taken us roughly an hour from the half-way point. Within seconds we had over shot the target. Not being prepared for this level of testing, the Charlemagne’s hull started to buckle, fracturing in some places. There were reports from all across the ship of systems shorting out, terminals exploding. We didn’t stop until the propulsion system was ejected in a very risky manoeuvre implemented by Lieutenant Franks and T’lan, both of whom lost their lives in doing so. Reports from their deaths, as well as the other lost crew members, are listed in the medical report that will be attached with this report. We are unsure of how far we have travelled from our starting location, nor are we sure where we are in location to the Alpha Quadrant. We haven’t as of yet found any recognisable constellations to get our bearings with, and the local species have not been completely…. Hospitable. During our first week in the Sigma Sector, we didn’t encounter any other signs of life. We had turned the ship around and attempted to travel back along our original path as best we could whilst we assessed the damage to the ship. We had a full crew compliment of eighty when we began the mission. During the test run, we lost sixteen men and women. We were able to reconnect our warp drive, as well as repair many of the damaged systems. Captain Lorenzo managed to keep crew morale up during this time as well. Eventually, we made first contact with a race native to the Sigma Sector. They called themselves Joht-Var. (Details of all races we have encountered so far will be attached to this report) During our initial encounter, they greeted us with open arms, inviting Captain Lorenzo to come aboard their ship in order to discuss what aid they could give us. We realised too late what was going on. Once he was aboard, the Captain and his security escort were murdered by the Joht-Var, in the name of one of their Gods, proclaiming that we are unclean and are here to taint their way of life. I assumed command of the Charlemagne and made a fast retreat. The Joht-Var made no signs of following us. With the death of the Captain and his escort, that has brought our total lost up to twenty-one. We have done our best to survive within the Sigma Sector. Not all races have attempted to attack us. Some have been quite willing to help us, whilst others have asked us for aid. For the time being, it has been decided by myself and the crew that we will remain within the Sigma Sector until we are able to find out a way to return to the Alpha Quadrant. I only pray that we are able to survive that long. This is acting Captain Ellison, signing off. --------------------------- Captains Log Extended: Inhabitants of the Sigma Sector Joht-Var From what little information we have been able to gather, it appears that the Joht-Var are the primary force of power in this region of space. They are humanoid in nature, with a heavily built body frame, complete with large muscle structure. Their skin is akin to the old Earth creature called a Rhino, appearing to be quite tough in nature, and grey. Their mouths are filled with plenty of sharp, pointed teeth. They have apparently made use of technology left behind by a race called the Kurvani, a highly advanced civilisation. The Joht-Var have made use of this technology to create powerful ships, weapons and armour, but at the same time, they have highly advanced medical technology. If they weren’t so hostile, they would be a good race to trade with. The primary concern with the Joht-Var is that they appear to be a very religious species, worshiping many gods, most of whom are gods of war and conflict. They are locked in what seems to be a constant battle with another race called the Adronians for territory, and take a lot of pleasure in hunting another race called the Syriva. The latter, however, appears to be the primary food source for the Joht-Var. Kurvani There are many legends in the Sigma Sector surrounding the Kurvani, so it is hard to work out what is true and what is just story telling. What we do know is that at one time, they controlled all of the Sigma Sector, a feat they accomplished through peaceful means. They had highly advanced technology, especially in the field of medicines and science. One piece of evidence for this, although we are unsure how true this is, is that they were able to replace parts of their bodies when they failed with those of any other race, granting them some level of immortality. Other evidence seems to suggest that they expanded their empire a lot by abducting races from other planets and planting them on new worlds. There are no records of when or how the Kurvani vanished. All that remains of them now is their technology, most of which has been taken by the Joht-Var. Humans A surprising find was the presence of the human race. We believe these humans were taken by the Kurvani many hundreds of years previously and planted on their new world, Regerus, so named after their leader at the time. The humans, or Regerians as they preferred to be called, are like us in almost all ways, save for a few very important differences. Over the course of their time here, the Regerians had implants put into their bodies, granting them ESP and telekinesis. This was done so often to them that eventually they were born with the abilities already present, without the need for implants. An interesting side effect from this was the complete loss of hair on their heads, for both male and female members of the species, and their having prominent blue veins on their skin. They have progressed slowly in terms of interstellar travel, having only recently achieved the ability to breach the warp barrier. They have been very friendly towards us so far, showing us no ill-will. I believe there is much we can learn from each other. Syriva The Syriva are the least violent race we have encountered thus far. They have greeted us with open arms, offered and provided us with any help we need, and have asked for our assistance on troubling matters a few times. Thin, waifish humanoids, the Syriva have long ears that we at first mistook for horns. They do not appear to have any bone structure, instead being supported by a collection of sacs filled with fluid that they can freely move around their body to aid them in movement. They do not have a homeworld within the Sigma Sector, as it was conquered by the Joht-Var several decades ago. Since then, they have been on the run as they have now become the primary food source for the warring race. It should be noted that it is easy to notice a Syriva ship. They are often beautifully crafted vessels, with intricate designs. This does, however, often make them easy targets as they are not well versed in combat. Centara The Centara are a race that I have advised all crew members to be careful around. They are semi-nomadic in nature, mainly living aboard mining ships, asteroids and space stations converted into trade hubs. Appearance wise, they are much shorter than humans are, and have many reptilian features, including scales. They have no concept of loyalty or family, preferring to trade valuable with just about anyone. Shrewd businessmen, they often fight amongst each other using hired assassins belonging to the Adronians. As a means of advertising, they are often seen wearing the latest word in armour and weaponry, but they do not appear to be any good in actual fighting circumstances, hence the assassins. They have control of the main space port, Tellah, which appears to be neutral ground, save for their own conflicts. It is a port we have stopped at on occasion to gather supplies. Adronian We have next to no information on this species. We aren't even sure what they look like. We know they are often hired as assassins, and rarely fail at their task. Beyond that, we are unsure. I am sure this will be updated at a later time. ----------------------- U.S.S. 5. IC: Skyrim Adventures

Skyrim Adventures The events of this RP follow the game as if the Dragonborn was doing the main quest, right up to the first time he encounters Alduin and attempts to defeat him with the Dragonrend shout. In the game, Alduin ends up fleeing. In this RP, however, that isn’t what happens. During that pivotal fight, although the Dragonrend shout succeeded in bringing Alduin down to the ground, the Dragonborn did not have the power or skill needed to vanquish his foe, and instead was defeated himself. With potentially the only person able to defeat him gone, Alduin carried on with his reign of terror against Skyrim, raising the dragons from their graves in order to conquer all of Tamriel. Having been present at the defeat of the Dragonborn, and not wanting to see Tamriel fall into chaos and destruction, Paarthurnax, one of the few dragons to stand against Alduin the first time, orders his followers, the Greybeards, to join him in the fight against Alduin. Although reluctant at first, the Greybeards eventually agreed to help their master and began the search to find a way to defeat Alduin. Knowing that without a Dragonborn, they could not truly kill him, Parthunaax and the Greybeards built a powerful magic prison in the heart of a mountain with the aid of an Elder Scroll. After a long battle, the Greybeards and Paarthurnax trapped Alduin, sealing him away within the mountain before blocking all ways of getting to him. Paarthurnax, and the other dragons that remained, quickly learnt that trapping Alduin inside his prison had come at a cost. Whereas before they could only be defeated if their soul, their essence, was absorbed by someone such as the Dragonborn, those that Alduin had resurrected has now lost that protection. This new found mortality scared the remaining dragons, who stopped their attacks on Skyrim and pleaded to Paarthurnax to help them. Together, with the Greybeards, Paarthurnax spoke with the leaders of the Holds of Skyrim, and a treaty was arranged, an end to the hostilities. Although all of them eventually agreed to the treaty, most in Skyrim are still very cautious of the dragons, some still wanting to be rid of their kind. The dragons themselves now spend most of their time trying to stay away from the populated areas of Skyrim, for fear of attack from wayward attackers looking for glory. Life carries on in Skyrim, most not realising that beneath the mountain where Paarthurnax rests upon its peak, Alduin struggles against his magical prison, just waiting for his chance to escape. ------------------------ There had been a heavy snowdrift last night. Loc’yari could tell as such as he walked through Winterhold, heading towards the college. The few inhabitants of the small, dozy town were busy trying to clear the pathways towards their homes and shops, making use of all sorts of implements to do the job. The students and teachers at the college, of course, were taking a much different approach. They were using the heavy snowfall as an excuse to test the students of the destruction magic classes, having them generate streams of fire to melt the snow off of the path towards the college. Of course, the inhabitants of Winterhold mocked them for it, telling them that that is not how it should be done, that real men would use a shovel. Loc’yari had been quick to learn that the people in Winterhold were not fans of magic, no matter the kind, nor how helpful it was for them. He couldn’t blame them really. They had lost most of their city in what they believed to be a magical attack, an attack that only the college seemed to survive. But, none of that was his concern, he was here to learn mastery over his two preferred schools of magic, and that is what he was doing. As he began the walk along the crumbling bridges towards the college, he was greeted by fellow students who were either on their way out for some free time, or heading back to college for a lesson of their own. Even though most students were required to wear the standard black robe, Loc’yari wore his mixture of plate and cloth armour. After all, he argued, when he is using his magic in actual combat, he will be wearing the armour then, so he might as well get used to it. Thankfully, the Archmage had agreed with him, so long as he behaved. Heading into the main courtyard, Loc’yari paused and looked around. Various students were talking amongst themselves as a fresh layer of snow began to descend around them. Pulling his hood back, running a hand through his hair to make sure it was straight, Loc’yari looked up at the dragon statue that rested above the main entrance. Even though it had magically appeared one night, no one seemed to question it. The Archmage said everything was fine with it, and not to worry, so no one did. Loc’yari, however, was certain that there was something about it that wasn’t quite right. He was sure he saw it breathing sometimes. Letting out a sigh and shrug, Loc’yari turned and walked into the commons room, heading to where his own little area was located. Taking Fellbane from his back, Loc’yari placed it on its stand before falling back onto his bed for some quick rest.

  7. Treasure Hunters: Lost Island of Zhu'hun 1799, Port of Dover, British Empire. The high seas are awaiting the ships of the treasure hunters, and the captain was waiting for paying explorers to join him on his expedition. The port was busy with activity, traders trading and sailors ready to make port, anticipating months of paid work on the ocean's wave. Captain Haynes had advertised his trip into uncharted territory- to the fabled lost island of Zhu'hun, the "Island of burning skulls" to bravely discover new lands and claim all of the native treasures for the British Empire, long live the king. His crew were busy mopping the decks, peeling potatoes, and navigating the charts to set off when the explorers arrived, their hearts full of mystery and their heads stuffed with fame and profits.. Maybe there would be stowaways aboard? even so, it would take all the help possible to make the crossing! ******************************** Oswald walked on tenterhooks toward the rough and tumble port, he was apprehensive about dealing with the salty sea-dogs and whatnot. He adjusted his hat, then patted his pockets, a bit paranoid that a ruffian had robbed him while he looking in wonder at the port's many ladies of disrepute... he strolled up the first man, a dirty looking and rum smelling beast with a bottle and a map in his other misshapen hand. "What'chu want?" he obviously had little schooling, judging by his poor personal hygiene and terrible manners. "Good day, my good man. I am looking for "Captain Haynes" of the "Liberator." Where might he be?" The man grunted and pointed at the biggest hip in port, aside from the large trading ship, which had a line of African slaves coming out of it, bound in chains. He thanked the man, who grunted and slopped himself with his bottle of brown would-be-anesthetic. The ship ahead was huge, and it buzzed like a hive of bees with the daily work. He stuck out like a sore thumb among the filthy masses, and spotting the captain (the only man in a hat, although he was also rather unwashed.) He addressed him as he had read in a book about sailors, which was a mistake. "What ho, matey! Are we ready to make waves?" the captain looked at him like he was an idiot, which he certainly seemed to be. The captain's inner monologue translated fools-speak for him, and he itched his stubbly chin, deciding to humor this city man He asked: "Aargh, that be right. You'd be Rumsfeld Smythe? good. I'm Cap'n mark Haynes, this is the Liberator, ain't she a beauty?" And it was indeed...

  9. OOC: Hogwarts RP-First Years

Hogwarts RP First Years Info box: Type: Public Genre: Fantasy, Action, Magic Level: Basic For ages: 11+ For this weeks RP thursday, 23/08/12, I'm putting up something i've had in the ideas pot for a while. So... enjoy! Stating this first, putting anything like it in google will find it, so i'll state VERY CLEARLY that i don't OWN any of the original material, it belongs to the writers, publishers, Warner Bros studios, and all the others. I'm using it as a creative medium for the purpose of roleplaying enjoyment! Oh and, please don't join up if you don't have a clue about J K Rowling's Harry Potter books or films! For those of you who do, It's the year before Harry Potter and his friends first recieve thier letters. In fact, exactly a year. Voldemort still fell, and the story is the same, just we are a year before Harry himself shows up.(Obviously the whole wizarding world knows his name, still!) As this is a prequel style story, we have all of Rowlings creations to mess around with, but i'd like to explore some fresh ideas that don't get touched on in the books, and let our imaginations flourish, although within the confines of the material. We'll be recieving Hogwarts letters ourselves. You could be anywhere in the world if you want, But you'll be going to Hogwarts this year. Wherever you are, your letter describes you going to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express on platform 9 3/4 this september. You'll also go to Diagon Alley, buy robes, wands, owls, you get the gist, you're excited. You might be a pure blood ready to join Slytherin, or a muggle born in the wings to join Hufflepuff, it's all your's. This will be a little different RP wise though. There'll be two character sheets. Before and during school. Before will be your character, who they are, and so on. Be sure to mention what house you expect to be in! After that, your first post will getting your letters, then preparing for school in whatever way you wish, and once we're in, update to your new sheet. Then, we'll be sorted. All the NPC'S (The teachers, other students, even the hat) can be controlled how you usually control NPC's in an RP, just remember not to mess up the canon or make anyone act too differently. More information is on request, i have plenty of flavour text to splurge, but i don't want to make this OOC post massive, nobody likes a massive wall of text! 10. Treasure Hunters: Lost Island Of Zhu'hun Info box: Type: Public Genre: Action, Non-violence, Treasure hunting Level: Mid For ages: 12+ For this weeks RP Thursday, I'm attempting the "non-violent" approach. This is an idea thought up by myself and Tressen, during a brainstorming session. It's 1799, the turn of the century. The world is still mysterious, with new cultures and experiences just waiting to be discovered on all the far corners of the world- and someone has to think of the treasure, right? That's where you come in. You'll be joining Captain Haynes and his crew of hearty sailors on his latest expedition on his ship, The Liberator. I search of strange lands, to find islands nobody knew existed out in the darkest corners of the seven seas. There'll be sailors, sea shanties, picking the weevils out of biscuits and lots of rum, of course. On route to the legendary lost island of Zhu'hun ("the island of burning skulls" not friendly!") You'll be searching the jungles, ruins, and catacombs in search of lost gold. All while avoiding pirates, other hunters, natives who want to boil you in a pot for dinner, pigmies, and wild animals that try and stop you! Since this is a non-violent RP, you should be someone who is purely there for the value, or some other reason, but not good at fighting, making daring escapes from lava streams, rock slides, and other dangers the order of the day! He was on his front leaning his arms on his bed, reading about the uses of illegal "cobbing" in Quidditch matches at around nine in the morning of the sixteenth of June. He lazily flicked through the pages until he started to fall asleep in his clothes. In recent days his anticipation of learning when he would get to go to Hogwarts involved him counting off the days with a red pen on his calender, one where the little men and women were moving on the pictures riding little brooms. "Post is here, Will!" his grandmother shrieked up the stairs, her voice srhill enough to jolt him awake. He swiftly moved to his door and down the stairs in a single movement, and saw his grandmothers beaming smile. He noticed she had not dressed yet, and handed him his letter from her sleeve that smelled of musty mothballs. He tore off the envelope top and read the letter quickly. Finally! "We'll be heading to Diagon Alley Tomorrow, i have a book signing today, so you can either come with, or stay here with Anneka." Anneka, the fifty year old maid, a squib, was outside the door trying to dust the door frames while eavesdropping on her employer in the hall. "I'll stay here, Granny. Got to write to Rosie and tell her that i got it!" he smirked, pocketing the letter, and moving aside as his grandmother went up the stairs. She almost hit him the cheek with her long grey ponytail but didn't notice. "Anneka, Could you fetch Perseus? i need to send a letter." The maid went away to fetch the owl, but Will was only thinking about contacting Rosie, a girl he met the last time he had to go to a book signing for his Gran's book, "The Trials of Fame". Her dad had wanted a signed copy, and he found a kindred spirit in someone as bored as him... Here's Persisus, young master." she held out a large smart white and speckled owl on her leather bird-gauntlet. The owl flew onto his shoulder playfully. "Perseus, not Persisus. Carry on cleaning please." She did, and soon Will was back in his room with Perseus on a perch close by, and he cracked open a new inkpot and found a clean bit of parchment and a long fancy quill. He bit the end of it, wondering how to put his news into words....
  12. OOC: Endworlds- Reckoning

OOC: Endworlds- Reckoning Type: Public Genre: Action, Robotics, Apocalypse Level: Basic For ages: 11+ Alright. It's been a tough week for me, so i suppose this is sort of RP Sunday, right? right, so for 30/09/12 I'm going with a rather odd idea. The world as we know it is gone. It's alternate universe earth, 1969, where the second world war escalated to the use of such force that both the Allies and the Nazis destroyed each other via nuclear weapons (probably not invented, but alternate universe) So humankind is extinct. In the last decades of the war, German scientists were inventing sentient machines to wage war with, but they were destroyed, and the plans where not completed until ten years later, when the last pockets of humanity where trying to restart the world proper. The Robots were reinvented to be peaceful, and the last humans died knowing they left a lasting legacy for the Earth. So, it's 1969. Only Robots have wandered the earth for a few years now. With sentience always comes conflict, and soon they were modifying themselves for war. You'll be one of the sentient Machines. Feel free to experiment with any brand or flavour of Sci-fi you like, although there's no aliens either. The story will involve the eradication of the opposite side (As with history, They have taken up the flags and ideals of the classic sides, all those years ago. So, yeah. I', re-fighting WW2 with Robots. Madness, yes? maybe not? A little note on the success of RP Thursdays Hello. So far, i have a sort of 50% success rate. A few good ones, a few duffers. That's OK. I'll only be doing a couple more for the time being so we can focus on what we currently have. I'd say there's new life in the section nowadays and its good that it sort-of-worked. Faze, The man who sort of had a plan.
  13. OOC: Skyrim Adventures

OOC: Skyrim Adventures Info box: Type: Public Genre: Fantasy, Action, Dragons Level: Advanced For ages: 14+ Hello all! For a while now, I have wanted to do an RP set in the world of Skyrim, but I just haven’t been entirely sure of how to go about it. The other day, though, whilst walking to work, I had an idea. This RP stems from that idea. Having knowledge of Skyrim helps, but isn’t completely essential! Elder Scrolls Wiki Races of Skyrim (Ten races of Tamriel) The events of this RP follow the game as if the Dragonborn was doing the main quest, right up to the first time he encounters Alduin and attempts to defeat him with the Dragonrend shout. Having been present at the defeat of the Dragonborn, and not wanting to see Tamriel fall into chaos and destruction, Parthunaax, one of the few dragons to stand against Alduin the first time, orders his followers, the Greybeards, to join him in the fight against Alduin. After a long battle, the Greybeards and Parthunaax trapped Alduin, sealing him away within the mountain before blocking all ways of getting to him. Parthunaax, and the other dragons that remained, quickly learnt that trapping Alduin inside his prison had come at a cost. Whereas before they could only be defeated if their soul, their essence, was absorbed by someone such as the Dragonborn, those that Alduin had resurrected has now lost that protection. This new found mortality scared the remaining dragons, who stopped their attacks on Skyrim and pleaded to Parthunaax to help them. Together, with the Greybeards, Parthunaax spoke with the leaders of the Holds of Skyrim, and a treaty was arranged, an end to the hostilities. Life carries on in Skyrim, most not realising that beneath the mountain where Parthunaax rests upon its peak, Alduin struggles against his magical prison, just waiting for his chance to escape. So! That’s the basic premise for the RP. There isn’t much of a story, I will admit. It’s the kind of one where I am presenting those that want to join in a world where-in they can do as they please. Obviously, there are a lot of factions in Skyrim, most of who would be changed by interactions involving the Dragonborn. In this RP, all factions are how they would be had the Dragonborn not arrived. The Dark Brotherhood is still lacking their Listener and is still in a state where no one really fears them anymore. The Thieves Guild is still in shambles, again, not taken seriously by anyone, and so on. The Civil War in Skyrim is still ongoing as well, no High King has been appointed and Ulfric Stormcloak is still looking to claim that position as his own. With this RP, you can play as two types of characters. You can play as a normal humanoid individual, or you can play as a dragon. There will be differences between the two in terms of character sheets which I will get to later. There are certain rules, as it were, for this RP (beyond the usual rules, of course). You can not play as a Dragonborn, period. I will allow you to create a character that can use shouts (after all, anyone can learn to shout with the right training), but they will be limited; again something I will go into later. Dragons are the exception to this rule, but only because they are limited elsewhere. Like I said, your character can be pretty much whatever you want of them, so long as it’s within reason of course. I will edit this post later to include a link to the races that are present in Skyrim for those of you that don’t know what is available. If you are using magic, bare in mind the schools of magic present in Skyrim: -Alteration (affect the world around you, such as unlock doors etc) -Conjuration (summon creatures) -Illusion (Trick enemies into fighting each other etc) -Destruction (Standard offensive magic) -Restoration (Healing spells and the such) If you are playing a character who can use magic, remember that it is unlikely they are going to be a master of all spells etc, so do be realistic. Im not saying your character can’t know spells from each, but he or she isn’t going to be able to be fantastic at all of them. When it comes to shouts, if you’re not playing a dragon, you can have a pick of the following (sorry but I cant remember all their names!) You may pick out two from the list, at most: -Unrelenting Force -Fire Breath (Basic) -Ice Breath (Basic) -Whirlwind Sprint -Disarm. As a dragon, you have the same options as above, except your Fire and Ice abilities, if you have them, would be more advanced. You can choose up to four separate shouts from the list above, as well as: -Slow Time -Ethereal Form. -Ice Form. If there are some I have missed, let me know so I can make a decision as to whether it can be included and who can use it etc. And now for the character sheet! Naturally, it’s the standard sheet affair: Name: Age: Race: Gender: Appearance: Abilities: (Put shouts or magic here. If putting magic, please state which) Faction: (if applicable i.e. Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild etc.) Strengths: Weaknesses: Personality: History: I think that is everything for now. Any questions, feel free to ask! Sorry for it being such a long winded post, but there was all sorts of bits and pieces for me to remember! This may get edited slightly as well if I got stuff wrong or forgot stuff etc. Cheers! Loc P.S. This doesn’t really have a name, I know, so for now its just going to be called Skyrim Adventures.
  14. OOC: Infinite Skies

OOC: Infinite Skies Info box: Type: Public Genre: Action, Dragons Level: Basic For ages: Any For this weeks RP Thursday, 13/09/12, I'm going dragon-themed. I mean totally. There's no humans. Only dragons. Big ones, small ones, good ones, bad ones. On a planet completely inhabited by dragons, a world-destroying cataclysm is coming, in the form of a meteor. On the world, with semi-modern technology and magic combining as one, The last communities are preparing to flee their world and find a new planet, namely the one closest to them, they can see it in the sky. With five great Civilizations, it won't be an easy task. You'll be a refugee on the way to find the space ports in another city, to barter passage off-world. The "new world" isn't empty though. The people there would never have seen a dragon, and they will be afraid. The civilizations work on a tribal system, because the dragons (the Dov- Skyrim'd, XD) are peaceful, and appreciate nature. So there's forests and glades, deserts, and mountains. But no actual cities, just dragons all working in tangent together in their little settlements, among their natural habitat. Although they have space travel, it is restricted to ports of stone and magic that use ancient powers to function for a millennium. The 5 civilizations: 1: The Mountains of Ivak: The Mountain dragons are white and brown, they are often traders and miners. 2: The Forests of Tam'Uth: The Forest dragons are green and some are black. They are builders, building settlements with the plentiful trees. 3: The Islands of Kemmel: The Islanders are usually light greens, but all colored dragons like to visit the islands, for the warm climates. It is mainly settlements of traders, as well as some miners. 4: The Floating Motes: in the sky, floating lumps of land are perfect places to build ships and travel to the skies. It is where the most space-ports are. The dragons here are often yellow and light blue. 5: The Caverns Of Yggdran: In the caves, the blackest dragons live in the darkness and the red dragons live near the lava beneath. Lots of commerce comes through it, but it mainly used for training the young, and the heat helps the eggs to hatch. Character Sheet: Name: Colour: Age: Home: Job: History:
  15. OOC: Revolution 2400

OOC: Revolution 2400 Info box: Type: Public (Up to 4 players please, maximum of two characters apiece.) Genre: Sci-fi, Future, Action Level: Adv For ages: 14+ For this weeks RP thursday, 30/08/12, I'm going for the "future" idea! A faraway planet, in a hitherto unknown part of the universe, The year 2400. It's a lot like earth, but more technologically advanced. On the city planet Grios, in the back end of the horsehead nebula- are the Gris'Ani, (People of the Gris) who are a humanoid people at the peak of their personal evolution. They have computerised the whole planet, localised interstellar travel, and technology is at an all time high, with not only the establishment but Artificial intelligences running the world at large- wars are at an end, and conflict in fought not with guns, but with megabytes in cyberspace, abolishing religion and doubling the average life expectancy of roughly 80 years. The ruling bodies have already begun the obligatory fascist-state regime. Governments control the masses, and stomp on the faces of the common man. Gris'Ani look like very pale humans with long muscular tails and have slit like ears. They don't actually speak much. Naturally telepathy makes up for that, and compensates for lack of proper ears, and their eyes are often solid orbs of black, purple or red. They can have anything from thigh length hair to no hair at all. and they often have cybernetic implants, replacing or improving parts of their bodies. The Robotics are built to look like them, but their eyes glow brightly and they move robots as are expected to. As everyone knows, this only goes on for so long before someone rises up. They have. A man known only as "O" rises up and hacks the government control boards for the entire "world-city" of Almata-Gran and announces revolution. Rise up, people, and fight back! the robotic guards and floating spy drones cannot control us anymore! crush the establishment! You'll be a revolutionary or a Gris state lawman, trying to prevent crime, or you could be an independant hacker. Either way, the system's coming down. This is futuristic on a grand scale, think Coruscant from Star Wars and New York in The Fifth Element and you're there. You'll need to pick a class too. There are three for each faction, and they govern your equipment and skills, although making your character unique is what makes you you, of course. World city: where everything is Sector 10: The Establishment senate are, and AI hub. Nobody here is unimportant. Sector 9: The worlds main floor, where the captains of industry and the rich reside. Sector 8: Where the common people live. Mass storage of people, as it were. Sector 7: Trade and commerce is here, as is the warehouses and factories. This is where the common usually work. Sectors 6 and lower: Sectioned off as abandoned, the bottom planet sections are close to the planet core and are very hot. Rumours say some live there, but why anyone would want to is a mystery. Character sheet: Name: Appearance: Sector: Faction: Revolutionary, Lawman, or Independant Class: Revolutionary classes: -Future shock: You have abandoned the modern world. Ignoring tech altogether, you are seen as a savage and have weapons as such, like spears made from junk and guns made of bits robotic-guard. You are probably hiding in an abandoned building and attack all those that try to oust you from it. -Protestor: You probably chose to rise up on the orders of "O" and fight back. You might have abilities to hack computers, or the enemy or use their weapons yourself. You and others like you meet in secret places to plot "terrorist" atatcks on the establishment, and use guerilla warfare tactics. -Turncoat: You are likely one of the establishment soldiers. You turned your back on them hearing what "O" had to say and you use the training they gave you to bite back at your creators. You might be part machine, and have the weapons used by them, like shock sticks and stun-guns, riot gas and other non-lethal deterrants. Lawman Classes: -Fascist: You hate any chaos. Order is god. You have non-lethal weaponry and a standard shock-proof uniform and helmet but prefer your fists and illegal lethal guns bought via the black markets- Crush the revolution. Crush O. They rise up, you'll send 'em to the morgue. -By-The Book: You'll preserve order at any cost, but only if they stay in the confines of the law- You follow the rules obediently like a good little slave, seeing yourself as a paladin for good. You have a standard shock-proof uniform and hat, non-lethal weaponry, and like to use it. AI controlled Robotic: Built by the establishment, you maintain order with precision and non-violence, not sleeping, eating, or ever giving mercy, you are the law of the future. You have no need for uniform. Your hands disperse shocks and gas. Independant Classes: -Hacker: Behind a keyboard, the hacker waits to cause chaos for the establishment. Probably a normal Gris'Ani, you likely don't have any weapons, except viruses and keyloggers and spyware. And that's enough. -Mercenary: You're there for the creds. Credits are the only language you want to know. Maybe you were a lawman? maybe a regular guy who shoots mechs for creds? Your destiny is yours, no-one's telling you what to do. You could have any equipment, just explain how you came by it. -Double agent: You work for them. Revolution, establishment. Either way, you're a spy for the other side, for creds, for yourself, but probably not following either cause. You might have equipment from your job. Maybe you're a simple data inputter, who secretly steals establishment files for the revolution, but don't want to be attached to them? Equipment: History:
